Legacy Fundraising

Have you ever considered leaving a charitable gift in your will?

If you leave a legacy to GADAB you will directly contribute to our sustainability as a charity. When we agree to support an animal on our monthly support scheme – we commit to their lifetime heart

Your legacy will also help an over 60s person to adopt a rescue animal, who would not otherwise have afforded to do so.

Not to mention our new community project tackling social isolation and loneliness…

So, please consider leaving a gift in your will to GADAB – Felicity has recently done so, and here’s her reasons why…

What information do I need?

It’s very simple to make Give a Dog a Bone a beneficiary in your will – here is the information you will require:

Why do you feel its important to leave a legacy in your will to charity?

GADAB has made a huge difference to me, a pensioner, by paying the adoption fee for my cat and giving me a monthly allowance to help with her food costs (very necessary as it turns out that she has allergies no one knew about and needs a special diet). I don’t have the means to support GADAB financially at the moment, so I would like to leave a legacy in my will to help the work continue, to alleviate loneliness in older people like me and provide loving homes for animals with no one to care for them and love them, like the sweet little cat I adopted.

What made you choose Give a Dog a Bone?

I used to say that if I won the lottery I’d want to set up a charity to help elderly people with elderly pets. As people get older, so do their pets, and their expenses tend to rise as they need more veterinary care and medications to keep them fit and well while their guardian’s income is low. When a friend told me about GADAB I was delighted to find that someone had recognised this need and done something about it! So I would like to help GADAB continue its very valuable work and “pay forward” the help it is giving me

What would you say to others considering leaving a legacy to the Give a Dog a Bone charity?

GADAB is a relatively new charity filling a real need that no one else is addressing. When my previous cat fell ill expenses not covered by his pet insurance (such as the prescription diet he was on) were mounting. I asked a number of animal charities if they could help. They were all very sympathetic but they all said there was nothing they could do. Then I asked GADAB and they immediately said yes!
