500 Club Definition

Give a Dog a Bone…and an animal a home defines 500 Club as:

  • Small lottery delivered monthly
  • Fixed top prize of £500 per month
  • Second prize fluctuates depending on number of players
  • £5.00 per unique number allocated
  • Players are allocated a unique number which is set for the duration of their play

 

Cash Prizes 

  • Two cash prizes will be won each month
  • Fixed top prize of £500 every month
  • Value of the second prize will fluctuate every month depending on the number of donations received ie number of active/paying players each month
  • Top prize number and second prize number will be pulled from a random number generator on the second Saturday of every month
  • Winning numbers will be decided by an independent online random number generator
  • First winning number pulled wins the top prize of £500
  • Second winning number pulled wins the second (lower) cash prize amount
  • If the number selected by the random number generator hasn’t been donated for, another number will be selected by the random number generator
  • Give a Dog a Bone will make every effort to notify players they have won: Process for claiming prize is:
    • The winning number and the name of the person who has won will be announced on the Give a Dog a Bone social media channels
    • Give a Dog a Bone will email the winner to notify them they have won
    • If no response, Give a Dog a Bone will call to notify the winner
    • If no response, Give a Dog a Bone will send a letter by postal mail; letter will make the player aware they have two months to claim their prize from the date of the letter
    • If prize is still not claimed prior to the deadline, the random number generator will select a new winner
  • Prizes are paid to winners by BACS transfer or PayPal within three working days of notifying the winning players and confirming payment details
  • Winning player must provide payment details to an account under their name
  • It is the responsibility of the winning player to provide Give a Dog a Bone…and an animal a home with the correct bank details to transfer prize money to, if paid to the wrong bank account, Give a Dog a Bone will not approve a second transfer to the correct details if the details provided by winner are incorrect
  • If Give a Dog a Bone transfers to the wrong bank details due to an error on the side of the Charity, then Give a Dog a Bone will accept responsibility and pay to the correct account
  • Prize money cannot be transferred to the winner until the winner has claimed their prize by responding to Give a Dog a Bone and confirming their preferred payment details

 

Players 

  • Players must be of legal gambling age to play
  • Players will be allocated a unique player number at the point of sign-up which belongs to them for as long as they play
  • At point of sign-up players will be asked to provide date of birth, email, telephone and postal address
  • Players must set up a monthly standing order to play, players can pick a payment date that suits their circumstances
  • £5.00 per unique number allocated
  • No limit to unique allocated numbers per player
  • Entries / unique allocated numbers are not to be sold to or by anyone under legal gambling age
  • One-off play is not permitted in the 500 Club due to the large prize pot available. Therefore, players are asked to commit to a monthly standing order.
  • Should the players circumstances change and they need to cancel their standing order, we ask that they notify the charity at point of cancellation, so that we can release their unique number

 

How it works 

  • Each player will be allocated a unique number which belongs to them for the duration of their play
  • All proceeds and profits from the 500 Club small lottery will go to Give a Dog a Bone…and an animal a home to support the charity’s work in tackling loneliness in our ageing years and animal homelessness

We aim to tackle loneliness for the individual and homelessness for the animal, by removing financial barriers to an over 60s person adopting a rescue animal.
