Kiltwalk 2020 Postponed!
Kiltwalk 2020 has been put on hold due to COVID-19!
This event was our biggest fundraiser in 2019 so we were hoping for the same, or better, this year.
The good news was that The Hunter Foundation would top up any funds raised for the Kiltwalk by 50%, with Sir Tom Hunter later announcing that he would double any Kiltwalk donations received!
This all occured in the early stages of lockdown, during a period of great uncertainty for many – especially small charites like us, who were at risk of a reduction in donations due to the unknown financial situation of regular donors and grant providers. This was a HUGE boost for both donations and morale!
Fundraising continued until the 31st March deadline, and our girl, Wendy, (who should have been taking part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk) set herself a new challenge – walking 65 miles between 21st and 31st March! Wendy set herself this challenge as a virtual walk from our community space in Troon to our community space in Alloa.
Now we are waiting to see if there will be any further Kiltwalk events.
I would just like to say how much you help me to feed my hounds. If it wasn’t for your very kind help, I would not be able to keep them all! You’re an angel and my hero!! Your help has saved my life – the hounds give me a reason to get up and go out. I’ve met so many people to talk to while walking them all. Once again thank you.
Without Give a Dog a Bone, I would not have been able to find the amazing new family for my little biscon felix, who we had to rehome due to family illness. This charity are also looking into supporting my parents financially with their senior dog and trying to arrange a volunteer dog walker for them!! You are truly an amazing and selfless charity.
