Give a Dog a Bone Founder Wins Special Recognition Award

Louise Russell, who runs Give a Dog a Bone, was awarded a Special Recognition Award at the People’s Pet Awards this year. The ceremony took place in at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on Thursday 8th September.
This award celebrates Louise’s work, over the last nine years, bringing companion animals and older adults together to combat loneliness. When discussing the award with the Daily Mirror Louise said:
“We have big dreams to grow the charity to reach more people and rescue more animals.”
The Special Recognition award was presented to Louise by John Craven and Patsy Kensit.
With GADAB being primarily Scottish based, the evening presented lots of opportunities to meet new people and spread the word about Give a Dog a Bone and the unique ways in which the charity helps to tackle loneliness for older adults, through animal companionship.
